Kelleher Environmental carried out a pre-feasibility assessment of the viability of using anaerobic digestion (AD) technology to process source separated organics collected from over 200,000 households in the Region of Durham.  System options were identified, costs were estimated and regulatory, partnership and risk factors were taken into consideration in the assessment.

The Energy Markets study identified the types of energy which could be produced using municipal solid waste as a resource (electricity, heat, fuel) and the various end markets which could be used for fuels which could be produced from waste (syngas; methanol, ethanol, diesel, renewable natural gas, biogas and methane)

MSW Sourcing Study – Confidential Client, 2010 (756)

Carried out research on disposal options for residual MSW in Southern Ontario for a client sourcing a large amount of MSW for energy generation. Research included identifying the amounts of MSW produced by municipalities and managed by transfer stations in Southern Ontario, current disposal practices, years in which current disposal contracts would expire, current cost structures for disposal etc.
